The Cider House
BBQ & Pub opened its doors at 1675 US Route 2 in Waterbury,
VT on March 22, 2007. Located on the site of the former Farr's
Roadhouse on US Route 2 heading toward Bolton, the Cider House
BBQ & Pub focuses on using fresh local products to provide
a taste of the South up North.
Besides the BBQfare
featured at the restaurant, we introduce diners to an assortment
of southern style dishes like southern chicken fried steak and
blackened catfish along with the staples of the South: okra,
collard greens, hush puppies, and fried green tomatoes.
As
the name implies, Cider House BBQ & Pub also features a variety
of Vermont made apple ciders and hard ciders to sample with your
food, or while sitting at the full service bar or while relaxing
in the lounge by the fireplace. For those who prefer something
a bit stronger, the Cider House provides an array of refreshing
Southern cocktails like a mint julep, a dapper apple, a New Orleans
hurricane if you are looking for something unique.
"We believe
in buying from local producers, providing great food at reasonable
prices and giving people a fun and relaxing atmosphere to gather."
One of the owners, James Dotson, is enthusiastic on his new venture.
"We think the Cider House BBQ & Pub is a welcome addition
to the beautiful town of Waterbury as a gathering place for locals
and tourists alike."
