Top Relaxing Spots In Egypt

Luxor

A beautiful town on the east bank of the Nile, you should make sure to stop here on your MS Royal Viking cruise. For a close-up look at marine life and coral reefs around this area, you also can choose to go on a glass-bottom boat tour for a great underwater view without having to get wet. You can also go windsurfing or go on a boat cruise for exploring Giftun Island nearby.

On land, there are also many ways to entertain yourself and relax. You can enjoy the evening shopping in Hurghada and trying out one of the many restaurants. Hurghada, similar to Marsa Alam, is just a few hours from Luxor, which makes it possible to visit some of its famous temples during the same trip.

El Gouna

Located about 30 minutes from Hurghada, El Gouna is a resort town that is a quieter and smaller alternative. However, there are still plenty of things to do in El Gouna. You can enjoy practically any water sport there, ranging from windsurfing to snorkelling to scuba diving. There are a number of different boat cruises that depart from the shores of El Gouna on a regular basis.

Accommodations here have a tendency to be upscale. There is also a small museum, outstanding spas, shopping, and fine dining. El Gouna is perfect if you want to enjoy golf, tennis, or horseback riding on your vacation since there are facilities that cater to all of those sports. The Red Sea report town overall will be one that you probably end up never wanting to have to leave.

Sharm el-Sheikh

Situated on the Sinai Peninsula’s southern coast, Sharm el-Sheikh is perhaps the most well-known world-class diving area. It’s crystal clear and calm waters, in addition to its warm weather, make it the perfect setting for various water sports. Make sure to visit the Ras Mohamed Nature Reserved, which is a protected area with impressive coral reefs, mangroves, and beaches. If you like to check, check out the SS Thistlegorm wreck. It is one of the most interesting wreck sites in the world and a great place to find moray eels, stonefish, lionfish, barracuda, and other species.

Along with all of the underwater activities in Sharm, it also offers many land-based activities as well, which range from horseback riding to quad biking and go-karts. Also, I highly recommend that get out into the desert to visit St. Catherine’s Monastery and Mount Sinai. Between all of the ancient history and stunning desert landscape, it is an unforgettable journey.

Dahab

Situated on the Gulf of Aqaba, approximately 50 miles north of Sharm, this relaxed and charming beach town is renowned for its water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing, snorkelling, free diving, and scuba diving. You also can find sandboarding, rock climbing excursions, and yoga classes. Dahab was formerly small Bedouin village that has become quite popular with both thrill-seekers and hippies.

The beaches are just as good for taking naps and relaxing as they are to participate in more exhilarating activities like free-diving. While you are in the area, you may also want to book a trip to St. Catherine’s Monastery and Mount Sinai or a tour of the desert.

The relaxing destinations above are the ideal locations for kicking back and relaxing. They offer a broad selection of various leisure activities with warm weather, fascinating cultural and beautiful coastal scenery. Whether you are searching for a sleepy town or lively hotspot, our list has you covered. An added bonus is that all of the destinations can be the base for treks into the desert and to amazing historic sites such as St. Catherine’s or Karnak. Even if you never venture away from the beach, you will experience some of the world’s most picturesque coastlines and best water sports and marine life.
